For over a decade, Build a Dream has been a transformative force, empowering young women to break barriers and pursue rewarding careers in traditionally male-dominated fields. As a catalyst for change, we’ve garnered recognition from the Canadian government, industry leaders, and partners for our unwavering commitment to building a gender-balanced workforce and addressing critical skills shortages. Our mission began with a bold vision: to educate, inspire, and empower young women to explore careers in skilled trades, STEM, emergency response, leadership, and entrepreneurship—industries where female representation has historically been underrepresented. Through strategic initiatives and collaborative partnerships, we challenge stereotypes, dismantle barriers, and drive lasting change in societal perceptions of women’s roles in the workforce. Our flagship events, such as career discovery expos, allow young girls to connect with industry leaders and discover pathways to exciting careers. Job fairs provide job seekers with direct employment opportunities and upskilling resources, while programs like our industry consultation initiatives and career coaching services support the advancement and retention of women and underrepresented groups.
